Sweet Road is an Australian play by award-winning playwright and scriptwriter, Debra Oswald, who is probably best known as the author of the TV series Offspring and The Secret Life Of Us. Sweet Road shows us a ‘slice of life’ about a collection of diverse characters, as they set off on road trips through the Australian outback. Some of the travellers are trying blindly to find their destinations, while others are trying to find a highway to anywhere. Full of vitality and good humour, the dialogue and action is entertaining and dramatic, sometimes poignant, ultimately moving and uplifting, as it reflects the great variety of the Australian landscape, culture and character.
